The goals of these two women’s organizations is to foster Christian
growth in one another, to mutually support and encourage one another in
everyday life, to meet specific needs of Trinity congregation and the
downtown community and to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
near and far, around the world.
Both women’s groups are members of the Bayou City Zone of the Texas
District of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) of the
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Both groups support the
Lutheran Inter-city Network Coalition
(LINC) Christmas toys’ drive for immigrant children; prepare and
serve the annual Turkey Supper and Bazaar at Trinity, serve meals for
mid-week Advent Services, provide food for families at the death of a
loved one, and contribute to the “Mighty Mite boxes” that support world
missions of the LWML. Both groups meet monthly with special programs,
speakers and refreshments. Both groups cooperate together on special
projects or drives.
So what’s the difference?
