| Trinity Downtown Facilities Meet Multiple Needs |
Located at 800 Houston Avenue, Trinity Lutheran Church is on the near northwest edge of downtown Houston, in the shadow of the business towers near the city’s nerve center. For over 127 years, Trinity's facilities and campus have served the people of downtown Houston and the metropolitan area.
Facilities offer traditional ambiance
- Fellowship Hall: Our Fellowship Hall comes complete with a full-service kitchen and a lighted stage. The ample space easily accommodates over 200 for meals and over 300 for auditorium seating. Pageants, Awards dinners, lectures, bible classes, plays, dances and recitals are ideal for this hall.
- Sanctuary: Our breathtaking stained glass in the sanctuary creates a beautiful setting for worship, weddings, baptisms and funerals. Its traditional design blends the best of historical church atmosphere with facilities that are bright and attractive while exhibiting an ambiance of reverence. The beautiful stained glass windows adorn the walls in every direction while the long center-aisle and vaulted ceiling add grandeur and elegance. Our inspiring Holtkamp pipe organ must be experienced! It is one of only a few in the nation and is a treasured addition to the worship experience at Trinity Downtown.
- Office/School Complex: In 1996 the Christian Life Center was added to the main building. It is approximately 80,000 square feet of multi-functional design. In the Trinity Lutheran School area, you’ll find school classrooms for grades K through 8th, library, computer and science labs, with one of the best hardwood gymnasiums in Downtown Houston. For the Church, it affords spacious meeting rooms, a Chapel, Church and Ministry Offices as well as a spacious, well-appointed foyer complete with a convenient information center.
- Early Childhood Education Center: Just across the street from the main Trinity campus, at 1316 Washington, is the very popular Nursery to Pre-K division of the Trinity Lutheran Church and School ministry. Get your reservation in early for the exciting, fully accredited educational program that starts its day at 6:30am and closes at 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. Not only is it convenient for those who work downtown, but it is a loving, caring and safe place for your children. The Early Childhood Center is a wonderful experience with activities and learning opportunities, plus the assurance of a Christian-based environment.
- Cemetery: Consecrated in 1881, the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery is located on Sawyer Street, adjacent to Glenwood Cemetery, just one mile west of the Church campus. In a beautifully wooded section of downtown Houston, this cemetery is an honored hallmark of Trinity’s history in Houston. Several influential members of the Lutheran Church are interred in the cemetery including Rev. Dr. Oliver Harms (President of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod). Burial at Trinity’s cemetery is an option for members of the church.
Facility Reservations
The sanctuary, fellowship hall, gymnasium and selected meeting rooms are available for special events and weddings.
