Throughout our history, music has been an important component of Trinity Lutheran in Downtown Houston. We offer a variety of ways that you can gain knowledge and competency in music as you serve the Lord.
For High School, College and Adults
Sanctuary Choir: The Sanctuary Choir (a 40+ member group) is open to high school, college and adult members and meets Wednesdays from 7:15 to 9:00 p.m. Members study and carefully prepare songs for the traditional worship services. The Sanctuary Choir is accompanied by a variety of instruments and they are well known for their outstanding performances. For more information email Mary Voigt.
Trinity Woodwinds: Trinity Woodwinds is made up of adult and high school instrumentalists. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15 p.m. in the Trinity Band Room. The Woodwinds play for sanctuary services once a month. A wide variety of hymn tunes, Baroque ensembles, jazz settings and chorales of many eras are performed. Trinity Brass: Trinity Brass is made up of adult and high school brass instrumentalists. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:15 - 6:10 p.m. in the Sanctuary Balcony. The ensemble plays for sanctuary services once a month. A wide variety of music styles is performed. Email Mary Voigt for more information.
Trinity Bells: The handbell choir plays five octaves of Schulmerich Handbells and handchimes. Beginners and experienced players work together using a variety of techniques to create a fabulous sound. Handbells are an easy instrument to learn and to play. They are featured at Trinity worship services about five times a year. They meet on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:10 p.m. Contact Mary Voigt for more information.
Satellite Worship Band: Trinity's contemporary worship is led each Saturday by a talented band and worship leader. If you are a skilled musician or vocalist who has a passion for worshipping God in our contemporary worship community, please contact John Foster.
