Advent begins this Sunday. To prepare for the coming of our Savior, we’ll be learning about the “family tree” of Jesus. The Jesse Tree series is a fun and interactive study beginning with Isaiah’s prophecy.
Come join us this Sunday and learn why we need a Savior and how God planned for our salvation down through the centuries.
● Be sure to pick up your Jesse Tree home ornament kit, available in the Foyer, Narthex and Gathering Space. Here’s a link that you can use to print your on ornaments if you choose. The ornaments are two sided. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.
● Christmas decorating will take place this Sunday, December 1st after Bible Study Hour. If you have not yet signed up but can come and help, please contact Jean Minsch or Kim Davis at 713-229-2970 so that we will have a good head count for lunch and decorating assignments.
● Christmas Poinsettias are available for purchase to adorn the sanctuary. See details and QR code below. The deadline to order is Sunday December 15th. You may take your poinsettias home after the Christmas Day service if you wish.
● Carols and Bells will be on December 15th. Bring your bells to ring along and if you are able, sign up at the Welcome Desk to bring a plate of cookies to share.
● Let the Holy Smokers do some of your holiday cooking for you and benefit Missions at the same time. It’s definitely a Win-Win! You can sign up at the Welcome Desk to purchase a variety of smoked meats and sausage but don’t dawdle…sign up ends this Sunday, Dec. 1st.
● The Homeless Ministry is collecting coats and jackets. If you have gently used or new outerwear that you can give to bless someone in need of warmth, please bring it to the Welcome Desk. Large and extra large sizes are most needed.
● It’s that time of year…Pastor Dorn’s Christmas movie bible study will begin on Sunday Dec. 1st. This year’s movie is a timeless classic: Miracle on 34th Street. And of course there will be popcorn!
