Here’s how you can participate:
- Participate in Casa de Oracion’s “More Love at Christmas” gift campaign by donating $35 gift cards at the Welcome Desk, age-appropriate toys for children 2-16 in marked receptacles around campus, or via an online gift. Deadline for participation is December 4th
- Sign-up to at the Welcome Desk to help decorate the church for Christmas on Sunday, November 27th from 12:15 until approximately 2:30. Free food will be provided starting at 11:15!
- Be sure to mark your calendar for the installation of Pastor Lonnie Gonzales on Sunday, November 27th. A reception for Pastor Lonnie will be held in the Gathering Space during the Discipleship Hour. You may also welcome Pastor Lonnie and his wife Joy with gift cards by placing them in the basket at the Welcome Desk
- Pastor Dorn’s annual Christmas movie Discipleship Hour class starts on November 27th, and will be discussing “The Christmas Story” Class is held in room 123 during the Discipleship Hour, and includes popcorn!
- You can still turn in your “First Fruit” gifts for our “Magnify” Sanctuary refresh campaign this Sunday. If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to pledge, you may find a commitment card as you enter the Sanctuary, or you may record your Magnify pledge online here.

Psychologists tell us that we ask ourselves “Why bother?” every time we are confronted with doing something that not’s fun. You know what I’m talking about: paying taxes, working overtime, fixing the fence, asking a hard question, or just whether to get out of bed to go to church on Sunday morning, But, we often find ourselves having to do something that’s not going to give us immediate pleasure. Parents confront this issue every day from their children. “Why do I have to go to school?” “But I don’t want to [insert a myriad of unpleasant tasks here.”]
Delaying gratification requires a little grit. In reality, it requires faith that our actions will eventually result in a payback.
This Sunday at Trinity Downtown, we’ll see how God reacted when He heard the ancient Israelites complain about serving Him. We’ll be reminded that He always listens closely and remembers our thoughts and words. Come home to Trinity this Sunday; come learn how placing your doubts, suffering, distractions, hopes, fears, uncertainties in the hands of the Lord can lessen our stress load and bring deep transformation in our hearts. Celebrate with us the depth of Jesus’ love for us and find out how you can live a life of significance, filled with meaning. Discover how following Jesus can help you and your family navigate around the minefields of life. I promise you it will make a tremendous difference in your life.
We recorded Trinity’s Advent devotionals this week, and I’ve attached a photo of Pastor Black in the middle of taping one of his sessions. Please continue to keep Pastor Black in your prayers as he progresses in his rehabilitation. He and Audrey remain in an assisted living facility.

Our doors will open 30 minutes before the start of each worship service, and you may enter from any door. As always, we ask that if you are not feeling well, please stay home and participate with us online.
