Unwrapping the greatest Grift

…[Jesus] had no form or majesty that we should look at him…[but] surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.

 Isaiah 53:2b, 4a ESV

Here’s how you can participate:
Invite your friends to one of our Christmas worship services, and “share” Trinity’s digital Christmas invitations with your friends when you see them on your social media feed
If your schedule is flexible, please consider attending the 6:00 pm Christmas Eve service to leave as much space as possible for visitors attending the 4:00 pm service
If you ordered a poinsettia, you may pick it up after the Christmas Day service ends
Please note that on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day we will only have one worship service at 9:00 am, and no Discipleship Hour classes will be held for either adults orstudents
Please remember that to receive income tax credit for your contributions in 2022, your gifts must be received (or, at least post-marked) by midnight, December 31st. You can drop your offering into the plate at any of our worship services, mail your offering to our office or go online to www.trinitydt.org and click the “give” option at the top of the screen

Dear Members and Friends of Trinity Downtown:

This is the season in which we celebrate the unwrapping of the greatest gift ever given to humankind: Immanuel, God with us. This gift didn’t come brightly packaged or in a big box. Jesus was introduced to our planet in a remote and largely ignored part of the world. The heavenly chorus sang but was only heard by a bunch of sheep herders in the outback. The Christ Child was not laid in a beautiful bed, but in a lowly feeding trough.

Jesus’ birth teaches us that God’s most precious gifts sometimes come disguised and may be recognizable only as we look back.

Our worship schedule this coming week reflects the culmination of Advent and the celebration of Jesus’ birth. On Saturday, you can attend either of our two Christmas Eve services being held at 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm. Sunday’s Christmas Day worship service will be held at 9:00 am. The 9:00 am service will be the only worship service on Sunday, and no adult and children’s Discipleship Hour classes will be held.

Come home to Trinity this Christmas; come learn how placing your doubts, suffering, distractions, hopes, fears, uncertainties in the hands of the Lord can lessen our stress load and bring deep transformation in our hearts. Celebrate with us the depth of Jesus’ love for us and find out how you can live a life of significance, filled with meaning.  Discover how following Jesus can help you and your family navigate around the minefields of life. I promise you it will make a tremendous difference in your life.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend!
