I have a friend who tells a story about a time when he was flying to a third-world country that had (at that time) a prickly relationship with the U.S. After waking up from a nap, he decided to carefully organize all the legal documents he would need to provide the Customs officials upon landing.
That’s when he discovered that his passport was missing from his backpack.
Have you ever lost your wallet or purse? How did it make you feel? Then you can imagine how my friend felt. He quickly retrieved his luggage from the overhead bin and started frantically digging around, while simultaneously imagining the raft of problems that would ensue if he landed in a foreign country without his passport. Books, laptop and unmentionables were piled on his seat. But no passport.
Eventually, he discovered it–hiding in between the seats. He felt like throwing a party!
Jesus tells us that’s the same way God reacts when someone comes to faith, when the lost are found and the fearful are brought home.
This Sunday at Trinity Downtown, we’ll be discussing how we can play our part in searching for the lost, and we’ll celebrate being found! Come learn how placing your doubts, suffering, distractions, hopes, fears and uncertainties in the hands of the Lord can lessen our stress load and bring deep transformation in our hearts. Celebrate with us the depth of Jesus’ love for us and find out how you can live a life of significance, filled with meaning. Discover how following Jesus can help you and your family navigate around the minefields of life. I promise you it will make a tremendous difference in your life.
