We live in an “instant-on” world. We gobble our instant oatmeal after heating it up in a microwave. We expect to have the knowledge of the world available at an instant on our smartphones. We get impatient when someone doesn’t respond to our texts within minutes and are exasperated when the we get stuck behind a slow 18-wheeler on the freeway.
Have you ever become inpatient with your smartphone or computer when it just isn’t working fast enough? Or when the TV program you’re watching freezes because your TV has lost its internet connection?
Worse, have you ever lost your cool with your teen-ager, spouse or co-worker when they “get on your LAST nerve”? Patience is a rare and precious commodity, but our lives are SO MUCH better when it is present in our hearts.
This weekend at Trinity Downtown, we’ll be continuing our series looking at the fruit that the Holy Spirit naturally develops into our lives as we follow Jesus. This Sunday, we’ll be focusing on patience, kindness and goodness, the attitude of our hearts that comes only by building daily communion with God. Come join the beloved sinners this Sunday as we gather to celebrate God’s patience, kindness and goodness towards us, and to hear the Holy Spirit’s whispers of love to our souls. It will make a world of difference in your life.
