Dear Members and Friends of Trinity Downtown:

You can just look at the natural world and quickly deduce that God prefers variety. From mongooses to marigolds, scientists are just beginning to understand the vast scope of the animal and plant life on our little planet. Even if you confine your search to humans, it is quickly obvious that God has made each of us unique, with different talents, weaknesses, appearances, personality types and food preferences. Cuisine that might be highly attractive to one individual might border on being disgusting to someone else. For instance, many Chinese love fried duck tongue. “To each his own” we say.

God loves each of us equally, but He, too, has preferences. One of Jesus’ biographers tells us God is actively seeking people who want to worship Him in both “spirit and truth.” It would seem that approaching God in worship with both right thinking and right motives is highly prized by our Heavenly Father.

On this third weekend of the Lenten season come join with the other sinners at Trinity Downtown as we come together to worship our gracious God in “spirit and truth.” Come be reminded of how dependent we are on God’s guidance and grace and recall the great cost Jesus paid in showering that grace upon us. This weekend, give Him the opportunity to re-position your heart, redeem your circumstances and deepen your recognition that you are totally dependent upon Him for both your salvation and your very life.
