This REALLY is the day that God has made

Trinity Downtown > Blog > This REALLY is the day that God has made

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24 ESV

…Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden. Matthew 21:5b ESV

Here’s how you can participate:
  • Come celebrate the re-opening of our Sanctuary at this Sunday’s 9:00 am service. We’ll start out in the Gym, and then process to the newly-renovated Sanctuary! We’ve made special arrangements for those with mobility issues, so feel free to join us
  • Participate in this year’s Confirmation worship service at 11:30 this Sunday
  • Consider a pledge to the Magnify Campaign. We are very close to our $750k pledge goal, and would like to reach 100% by Easter Sunday
  • If you have already made a Magnify pledge, please prayerfully consider accelerating fulfillment of your pledge to help us fund the Sanctuary renovation costs that are now coming due
  • Holy Week is approaching fast. See all of our activities by clicking here.
  • Watch your email for links to our daily Lenten devotional videos. A new video will be available each Monday-Saturday of Lenten season
  • Purchase an Easter lily for $12.50 each by going online or signing up at the table near the Gym entrance
  • Get your ticket for the Christian Seder meal with Holy Communion being held on Thursday evening, April 6th at 6:30pm.  Tickets will be available in the Foyer on Sunday. Tickets are complementary, with a suggested free-will donation of $25 to cover the cost of catering by Treebeards, which you may give on the evening of the event. Dear Members and Friends of Trinity Downtown:

If you’re like me, sometimes it’s easy to see God’s “fingerprints” during each day. Hearing birdsong in the parking lot, the smell of coffee in the morning while spending quiet time with the Lord reminds us of His presence. Then there are the days when it is a bit harder for me to joyfully say “God made this day” when I get a flat tire or my laptop stubbornly refuses to connect to wifi.

I predict that Sunday will be one of those days when it will be easy for us to see God’s fingerprints. As we march into the newly-renovated Sanctuary that He has provided through the generosity of His people, when we hear the organ for the first time in eight weeks, as we welcome the coming Savior with palm branches, it will certainly be a time of celebration.

On this Palm Sunday join with the other beloved sinners at Trinity Downtown as we come together to worship our gracious God and welcome the Savior coming humbly to us on a donkey. Come join us in a spirit of humility and repentance and be reminded of how dependent we are on God’s guidance and grace. Recall the great cost Jesus paid in showering that grace upon us, and His promise that death is not the end. This weekend, give Him the opportunity to re-position your heart, redeem your circumstances and deepen your recognition that you are totally dependent upon Him for both your salvation and your very life.
