So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12 ESV

Here’s how you can participate:
  • Don’t forget to turn your clocks BACK one hour on Saturday evening!
  • Trinity’s annual congregational assembly will be held at 12:15pm on Sunday. Please bring your digital device that is able to send and receive emails, which we’ll use as our electronic voting system. The assembly will be held in the Gym with food provided by the Holy Smokers starting at 11:30 am.
  • After the congregational assembly, you’ll want to stick around for a choral concert by Casulana, the women’s choir of Houston, being held at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary on November 6th. Discounted tickets for Trinity members and friends (which must be purchased before noon on Sunday) are available for purchase at the Welcome Desk.
  • Also on Sunday, November 6th, the Ladies Circle will be conducting their annual Christmas Bazaar in room 125. All purchases go toward supporting the ministry of Orphan Grain Train.
  • You can still turn in your “First Fruit” gifts for our “Magnify” Sanctuary refresh campaign this Sunday. If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to pledge, you may find a commitment card as you enter the Sanctuary, or you may record your Magnify pledge online here.
  • If you have not yet recorded your 2023 Home Treasury pledge for planned giving next year, you can find a commitment card as you enter the Sanctuary, or you may use our online pledge form here.

Dear Members and Friends of Trinity Downtown:

Whenever I watch a war movie, I’m always struck by the bravery of the combatants. They live with the fact that they may not survive each battle. At least in the movies, that fact doesn’t dissuade them from engaging in dangerous combat activities. They appear resigned to their fate that none of them are likely to get out of battle unscathed.

Thinking about it, however, that’s true for us too. None of us will get out of life without first facing death. The clock is ticking for all of us, and Scripture tells us that we should be cognizant that our lives and opportunities are finite. Time is a precious resource, and we best not fritter it away.

This Sunday at Trinity Downtown, we get a chance to celebrate “All Saints Sunday” where we remember the life and faith of Trinity’s members who have gone on to be with the Lord in the last twelve months.  We’ll commemorate the contributions each of these saints made to our church and our community as they lived out their faith. We’ll be reminded that they were imperfect people who worked and lived as followers of Christ, and we will offer our respect to their family and friends who loved them.

Come home to Trinity this Sunday; come learn how placing your doubts, suffering, distractions, hopes, fears, uncertainties in the hands of the Lord can lessen our stress load and bring deep transformation in our hearts. Celebrate with us the depth of Jesus’ love for us and find out how you can live a life of significance, filled with meaning.  Discover how following Jesus can help you and your family navigate around the minefields of life. I promise you it will make a tremendous difference in your life. Be sure to turn your clocks back one hour on before going to sleep on Saturday, or you’ll be an hour early for church!
